MJ & Barry with winning entry from Art Effects

 When Barry and I entered a nation wide framing competition, we were thrilled to find out we placed third in Canada! First and second place went to framers in Ontario, and third place was awarded to:

Art Effects Creative Framing in High River, Alberta.

There were hundreds of entries from across Canada, and the competition was judged by framing professionals and instructors from the USA and Canada.

The framing was judged on visual impact, creativity, design, skill and craftsmanship.

We would love to show you our entry, it is at the gallery after it's tour in Atlanta for an international framing conference. The results and photos of the entries from this competition will also be published in trade magazines for the framing industry.

Art Effects is pleased to announce we are the exclusive distributor for Doug Levitt's new line of Giclee canvas.

Doug considers his 'big break' to have been when he was juried into the Calgary Stampede Western Art Showcase in 2003 and has been exhibiting his works at
the Stampede ever since. His paintings are gaining wide attention for an artist
still young in his career and as a result, his works are in collections as far away
as Australia, New Zealand and in some of the finest private collections in Canada
and the American Southwest. He regularly receives invitations to attend
prominent exhibitions in Canada and the United States.  In 2007, Doug was commissioned to paint the image used for the 2008 Calgary Stampede Poster which promoted the Stampede world-wide.
